Proud to be ME, throughout the years...

This "dynamic picture slideshow" video is made as a tribute to my course mates in four years of degree. Pictures are composed of major events happened throughout 2008-2012, in which mostly around 2011 on wards as i only posses a camera and join in the big group afterwards.



A few motivation that drives the project =)

Suffering from leg injury thus having quite lot of free time.
At first just wanna go for some editing for gun firing sequence, but pointless as it serves no purpose, thought of using it as intro, but finally dropped out the un-related sequence.
Always wanted the people involved to view the videos they never seen, as it will be a waste if just keeping all of  those to one self (It was quite pointless to share and watch only one main video randomly at a time, thus combining all highlights into one will be great.)
Guess it will be one of my hobby, found it quite entertaining when editing


Technical stuffs:
-Inspired from the moving newspapers and moving picture frames to the panning camera for the appearing credits roll of Harry Potter plus epic opening from bethesda (Skyrim), thus the video is produced with this theme. Music used is Charlie Brown from Coldplay as it was one of my favourite for the moment. Having a good intro and outro just make it perfect, a big "boom" when the book opens and close when the music is fading away =)
-Youtube version was blocked over 240 country -.- due to usage of coldplay song, thus uploading onto facebook is the option.
-The idea on compostion, instead of using the built in "page flip" transition, a manual approach is used as the "page flip" transition is only in 2D. Basically each page is a composition, just like each page is a video screen, which can rotate in 3d world.
-3d elements were used but i gave up on how to make it position correctly, thus all the pen and pencils are actually 2d footage of 3d items
-Every page is total random, not planned, just letting ideas flow out. Only guide is that the pics was filtered  according to date, thus the composing is actually not consistent, as more ideas towards the end.
-Composing took around 12-14 days, even if doing it full time it will still take a week. Fully render takes up to 12 hours, might be due to HD definitions and the effect. It was the first time my laptop was in full fan speed mode for that long period ( luckily the render breaks into 8 hour and 6 hour due to error in between, giving the laptop time to rest ). If it was to count for the hours to render throughtout the project, it would add up to days, including drafts and first renders.  Few hours to upload as the file is converted to a 720p (1280x720) H.264 video quality, 220mb in size, which was quite ok. Better than wmv which i was using it for online distribution last time.

Brussel's Beer Cafe

Brussel's Beer Cafe, a Belgium Themed Beer Cafe, famous for its Belgian Beers. It was my first part time job here during my year 4 semester 2 break (15 november 2011 till 03 January 2012) , which thanks to Jackie who introduced and recommended me inside.

Everyday travelling back and forth from Setapak, thanks to Ron's Super-Reliable bike, PGK 5640 Karisma 125cc scooter, went through all the weather and there is once the rain is too heavy and i had to stop and wait for the weather to calm.

The time when I was there, we only have around 4 full time worker (1 supervisor) , 4 part time worker including me. It was a small group back then as we are divided into morning and night shift. Averaging round 5 worker during night session as I was only involved during the night session. Even 5 worker is not enough during peak hours such as Friday Night. A crew of 6, few days before i left.

Just 2-3 days left to my leave, the kitchen burnt off due to electrical fire and business on food was closed for a few days.

And now.. after a six months, the family had grown so big thanks to Taw Wei who introduced his friends to tag along. To think a bout it, it was quite some time ago when I left and never expected that the family had grown that big. We always face problem on not having enough workers back then and only managed to recruit one capable worker during my 2 months stay, while another one was sacked.

With all the youngsters getting along, starting to felt I doesn't belong to there any more after this long period. Quite glad as Aunty (the Chef's wife) managed to remember that i used to work there and also Bundu, the steward, which is the only fella in the kitchen remained till today. Thought of joining back before, but seems that they have more than enough staff, seems like no point joining in any more.  

Guess its time to leave this place once and for all, it had been a pleasant and great experience during this 2 months of working.

Lang Tengah Trip

As they say, picture itself speaks a thousand words. That is if the picture itself are able to tell the story, and that is one of the criteria for taking a good picture.

There are some memorable moments in which a picture can capture some of the moments even memory can't, in which photos are important to keep as a memorable moment.

This vid took me around 1 week to do as lost of inspiration and motivation during the way, maybe it could be done just around 3-4 days...or 1-2 days full time @@ just that one should end what he had started, it would be a waste if it was to be abandoned just liddat.

But its worth if it gave every participant a lifetime memory =)

Mood of the day..

Just when i thought everything was lost,

All the worries were lost as well.

But no, it wasn't.

It was just right there,

waiting for the best moment to appear.

Anything reminds me of everything,

The song, the place, the words, everything.

It was clear that it was the end,

but was it not?

That's the only question i asked to my self.

Maybe i am too sensitive?
Actually I do mind at simple matters..

I am just being myself,

Again,

On the path of self discovery..

Time can always be the cure... only god knows when

Light Speed

Travelling at speeds up to 220km/h, transferring an enormous amount one terawatt (12 zeros) of power and 30k of Ampere.. an eletric discharge which could be one of mother nature's most powerful energy source, well if it can strike the same point over and over again, the energy produced might can stored up for a good use..

Most ppl when they were just a kid, lightning could be in one of their top ten most fear-able stuff list. But it's actually the sound of thunder that scared majority.. when i was a kid i was told that lightning will strike on bad boys if they don't go to sleep when told.. which was me. Everytime i heard sound of thunder i would be so freaked out that i might get hit and die! (the truth is i fear of death) That lie went on for period until my sister told me one thing. Light travel faster than sound, which you can only heard thunder after lightning strikes, and its the lightning that kills you. That time i come to realize i would be dead before i heard the thunder sounds, then what do i have to fear? I should have instead fear the lightning but it will be too late for that to happen. LOL

Proceeding about technical stuff..

This photo was captured by Canon Powershot SX130 IS which is just an average digital camera but with CHDK ( Canon Hack Development Kit) which includes a motion detection script for high speed activation by detecting the change of RGVvalues between frames when the leader strikes hit, and capture the rest.. even the glowing of the sky will make the camera make's it catch..

Iso set to 80 with F-stop of 3.4 and exposure time of 1.3 seconds was set to capture this photo

Cloudy Days

Dark skies across the skies, a symbol of things to come, will it rain? Sometimes it does, sometimes it don't.

Will it rain? How can i go home? Did i bring my umbrella? Did i hung any clothes outdoor? Did i close my window? All sorta question will pop up

Outdoors plan will be ruined and hoping it wont rain that long, while there are other people who will not leave this natural phenomena to waste, well of course by recuperating... @@

And there are people who enjoyed the sound of rain, the smell rain ( mainly due to evaporation of water on the floor ), just that the rain creates a gloomy, calm feel that signifies the wonderfulness and harmony which only nature can offer.

Well cut the crap! its geek-info time on some HDR attempt photography!

The picture above was a so called HDR photography, which normal digital compact cameras cannot provide such output (unless with a built in HDR feature) . As normally if its not too bright, its too dark.

Such example is that our eyes can see our friend faces while behind a clear blue sky while inside our camera either is a white-blown background or a clear blue sky but dark faces. This is due to the dynamic range our camera sensors can provide, its not as good as our eyes. To achieve such effect, the trick is using three different photo, which was then merged together to achieve a HDR pic. Just set camera in a static position and capture three different photos by playing around with shutter speed (better than changing ISO and Aperture) .

Just merge this three pics using an automated feature in Photoshop and you're done!

I hate Running

Joggings are... repeating actions of rapid movements with not much changes in moves in time, not much skill required, nothing new to discover, the feelings were just like slowly killing self bit by bit and you never know when you should stop @@

Running is no fun at all

There's an annual event "larian kecergasan" during my secondary school and never once i completed within one hour ( if done so, will contribute marks to the team ) most of the time is due to stamina and for the final year is too much participant jay walking on the roads, chit-chating and blocking all the way -.-

It was then until November 2010, which during my intern at Penang, my buddies registered me for a 21km marathon and no turning back, As 10km is too little while 42km is too exterme.. Thus it was my first official marathon and make me even more hate running during the trainings (being left behind all the time).But since then, it was a pretty great experience where such achievement in life was made and from that moment onwards, running seems to be a good activity even though i do hate running itself -.-

Eight hours of false hope, hours pass like deep knife cuts into open wounds, and things were finally clear. It was true, my thoughts are true all the time and i was just being a fool denying it. But all of that aids me in discovering myself, even i am surprised about myself, on what i can do.

Thank you.

Knowing you gave me a cause to live on and brightened up my life. You made every moment meaningful and made me realize that every thing is worth, just for you. You made me discover how wonderful a life can be, and how amazing it is. It changed my life forever. Life had never been the same since then.

Thank you again for being a precious moment in my life, and Valentine's Day for years to come will always be remembered as what it is for today, i wish you all the best.
